We recently came across a Forbes article that provided a link Aetna's Public Health Plan Data portal. Aetna requires people to first download a .gz file containing a JSON that contains URL's of more .gz files which contain even more JSON files that are 30+GB each. In most cases, people would have to alter their entire file system to view a 30GB text or JSON file which defeats the purpose of the recent CMS mandate requiring insurers to make the data available to the public in a easy-to-read format.
So we took a break from our public test-net preparations and are now almost finished with a simple app that makes it easy for everyone - not just plan members - to view and analyze the data. We're also incorporating the data into HealthONE - our incentivized healthcare platform that leverages our POS blockchain and rewards individuals, employers, providers, and insurers for actions conducive to reducing the total cost of care.
We believe its highly important to give back to our roots and therefore are donating a total of 5% of total equity to our technical references/sources, the Ronald McDonald Foundation, victims of domestic violence, and Pledge1%.
Giving Tuesday 2022, will involve our first annual "Giv Tue for You" campaign where 222 people will receive an equity donation and have the option to double their HealthONE rewards for 12 months. Recipients must verify their identity in order to claim the donation and double HealthOne rewards.
