During times of uncertainty and economic instability, many of us find ourselves wanting to give back in ways big and small.
Last year, organizations around the world navigated how they could support those in need, which led to a 24% increase in corporate charitable donations compared to 2020. As we enter another bout of economic uncertainty, many are considering not if they should give this holiday season, but how they should give.
In today’s environment, the positive intent of sending gifts can completely miss the mark. As Q3 earnings reports show poor performance and many tech companies are performing massive layoffs, sending lavish gifts such as high-end wine, food baskets, and company swag might be perceived as insensitive or excessive. Instead of unintentionally coming across as tone-deaf, consider charitable giving as an option for those on your appreciation list this year.
Charitable giving offers your employees, clients, customers, and partners the opportunity to gift-it-forward. An ideal charitable giving experience allows your gift recipients to donate their gift to an organization that aligns with their values. The best way to do this is to provide them with an array of social impact nonprofits to choose from.
As you plan your holiday gifting program, consider becoming an extension of the Giving Tuesday movement on Tuesday, November 29th. Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that’s helping influence change around the globe through acts both big and small.
In the spirit of spreading global generosity, we have pulled together a Giving Tuesday collection. This gift collection is filled with nonprofit organizations whose impact helps many in need around the world. Learn more about the nonprofit organizations included in this year’s collection.

charity: water works with local experts and community members to identify the best sustainable solution for improving water access, whether it’s a well, a piped system, a BioSand Filter, or a system for harvesting rainwater.
To date, they’ve helped fund 111,709 community-owned water projects, serving 15,477,279 people in 29 countries.
