Dear Pledge 1% Community,
First and foremost, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for providing us with the chance to recognize #WomenWhoLead! I just love the fact that highlighting young and impactful female leaders will inspire so many more around the globe.
For this year's nomination, I wish to nominate Eja Batbold, Co-Founder and CEO of TomYo EdTech. Her story and the work she is doing have been critical to addressing the learning gaps in Mongolia. Despite working for McKinsey & Co, Eja decided to return to Mongolia because she felt the need to give back to her community. She always saw inequality in the access to education in the country. Many opportunities to study abroad were limited to only those who could afford it or had the networks to get support. There were also barriers to language learning and access to mentoring.
During her first startup, Yakmere, she traveled around Mongolia to speak to nomadic yak herders to source our eco-friendly alternative to cashmere. The meetings with the herders usually ended up with her giving advice and mentorship to their kids on learning a new language and finding opportunities to study abroad. The herders and their families were more concerned about education than their yak wool. All these encounters and the gaps in quality education inspired her to start TomYo EdTech. Within a few months she launched our first flagship app TomYo. On the app, anyone could learn a new language, get mentorship, and find detailed information about studying abroad at a fraction of the cost of traditional means. She decided mobile learning and an app were the best solutions because almost everyone had access to a smartphone and not a computer compared to other developed nations worldwide. Initially, she taught language and provided mentorship herself. Now we have over 140,000 active learners with 500 experts and mentors on the app. Her work has led to so many success stories and helped hundreds of Mongolian youth to achieve their dreams of studying abroad and I believe she definitely deserves this nomination.
In addition, when I first approached her about Pledge 1% and joining the cause, she has welcomed the initiative and appointed me as the Social Impact Leader at TomYo. Now I am happy to state that we are pledging 1% of our product to those who deserve it most in the most isolated parts of Mongolia.

Good day,
I'd like Pledge 1% to read and accept the nomination of Vera Solutions' Chief Financial Officer, Theresa Miller.
Theresa's leadership style is both inspirational and encouraging, her passion and determination motivates others to do better than their best. You ask yourself, 'how is this possible for a person in such a serious position?' She holds a demanding position in the organisation, presiding over the companies entire financial portfolio with three sub-portfolios while sitting on the executive committee and contributing to the growth of the company.
She is results-driven and being in an astute position, she believes the proof is in the data when measuring success in the business. This is the mark of a good leader as one needs to provide data in order to substantiate whether or not they are successful. By this virtue, the term 'leading by example' resonates with her and she leads by example to help guide her team effectively in any situation. Her time is precious, and yet, she gives time to meet and strategise with her 3 team managers every week to listen & guide them where needed. Theresa is a leader who focuses on what needs to be done to ensure the long-term goals are being met. She enables her team members with this philosophy by sharing processes and examples and being a reliable confidant. Theresa endorses in continuous professional development and encourages her team members to learn a new skill or partake in a certified course the company can provide (Salesforce). Theresa assesses the strengths of her team members and taps into hidden talent her team members may show and advocate that talent to the company for use. This motivates her team members to do more for themselves and to be more productive at work. More so, Theresa is compassionate and believes in general well-being. She values the meaning of having a healthy output in life while finding the right balance between hard work, productivity, and career fulfilment.
I believe that Theresa Miller is a leader that has not been given the spotlight she deserves to be honoured and this March's series of celebrating Women's History Month on #WomenWhoLead 2022 is only fitting to show to the world what a great leader looks like.
Sincerely,
Brandon Booth
