I recently read an article that detailed how the climate crisis is exacerbating supply chain and inflation concerns, and discussed how extreme weather events are generally impacting the global economy. It made me call to mind the Climate Action and Green Recovery playbook that Pledge 1% has published. Thus, my social impact tip as we approach the new year is to leverage dates already recognized on the calendar to promote climate action social impact programs!
Examples include:
These are just some examples of environmental awareness dates that can be leveraged to plan out climate action activities! A more substantial list can be found here, courtesy of Green Dreamer.
In addition to the Climate Action & Green Recovery playbook, Pledge 1% also hosted a webinar on this topic! If climate action is a priority within your social impact programs, this webinar offers insights from DocuSign, Silicon Valley Bank, and Salesforce about their journey and steps to not only recognize the integral role they play in the climate crisis -- but to be leaders in creating long-term strategy that puts all stakeholders first, including their employees, customers, policymakers, and shareholders.

Thanks for sharing this tip @chris! I loved hearing how each of these companies got started in our event this past spring. Each expert shared the items they focused on in the very beginning and how assessing these items helped shape their journey. You can listen in to that event and all the expert tips here: https://climateactionandgreenrecovery.splashthat.com/
Feel free to ask the experts from that event ( @dconkling, @EmmaGrande @AmyLesnick ) your questions here on the forum or share tips of your own around this topic!
The Climate Action and Green Recovery Playbook will serve as a roadmap for all Pledge 1% companies to get involved in combating climate change through leveraging our unique resources, employee activations and engagement, and internal and external policies that consider all stakeholders, including the planet.
