Philanthropy to support homelessness

At Australian Philanthropic Services, we regularly focus on a particular area that requires philanthropic funding. We've recently looked at homelessness on behalf of our clients, and I thought I'd share some resources with you.

While addressing the homelessness crisis is undoubtedly about providing physical shelter, it is also much more than that. Experiencing homelessness can negatively impact every aspect of a person’s life, from the quality of their health to securing and maintaining employment.

We've put together an insights paper on where and how your donation could make a difference: https://www.australianphilanthropicservices.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/APS-insights-on-homele...

We've interviewed key players in the space and other philanthropists who are working to end homelessness: https://www.australianphilanthropicservices.com.au/leading-systems-wide-responses-to-homelessness/

We've also created a list of key Australian charities working in the space if you are looking for somewhere to start: https://www.australianphilanthropicservices.com.au/homelessness/

Thanks for sharing Kate! Such a solid list of charities to partner with and give to. We've had the Orange Sky team do a few talks with our employees which have been received really well (raised $3.5k in an hour). Can I also add to your list some others that have been amazing partners and need volunteers:
- Our Big Kitchen (Bondi) - food relief

- Dignity (Sydney) - Crisis accommodation, food relief, care packages

- The Big Umbrella (Melbourne) - food relief
