Seeking Best Practices: VTO Policies/Programs

Hi! I'm Blair, CSR Manager at Braze. Our Social Impact Team is in the process of revamping our global volunteerism strategy, and we'd love to learn best practices from other Pledge 1% members who've had a hand in building similar programs/policies at their organizations.

 

Our questions--

  • How did you go about setting your number of days (or hours) for your annual VTO benefit? (Especially curious how others with existing, flexible PTO policies went about this)
  • How do you set guardrails around what qualifies as volunteer time and what does not?
  • For those with product grant programs, does support of your product grant customer accounts count toward employee volunteer time?
