What an incredible couple of days at the inaugural Global Impact Summit in Sydney.
It kicked off bright and early with a coffee meetup organised by the Pledge 1% team - a cold morning, but the turnout said it all, with members including Atlassian and Employment Hero out in force from the start.
Day one moved to the State Theatre, where ARIA-winning artist Guy Sebastian took the stage to share his story, the work of The Sebastian Foundation and the Open Parachute program, which brings mental health support into Australian schools. Pledge member Green Pay also spoke, adding to a jam-packed day of inspiration.
Day two shifted into a full day of concurrent learning sessions, with Atlassian sponsoring their own stage. Pledge Australia Managing Director Antonia Ruffell moderated a session featuring members Atlassian, Canva, Employment Hero as well as Airtrunk on "Unlocking More Than Funding: How Australia's non-profit and tech sectors can collaborate for greater impact". We started with introductions and quickly moved into interactive group conversations - an excellent way to share information between non-profit participants and Pledge members.
For a first-ever event, the turnout was extraordinary, with the social impact sector and so many NFPs showing up to learn, connect and build momentum together. We can't wait to see what's next.
