We are so excited to be launching our Humanitarian Relief Series soon! Our first speaker has shared this relatively new effort to support upskilling refugees around the world. A nice reflection on the initiative below, with a link you can follow to learn more about these efforts and how they might impact your hiring and community efforts. 

The event brought together job seekers and employers – including partners and candidates from our Welcome.US Employment Exchange portal – to promote on-the-spot hiring. More than 300 hopeful candidates showed up at the Hyatt hotel in Tysons Corner, including 80 Afghan women. By the time the two-day event ended – after 458 job interviews – 108 Afghan newcomers had secured job offers. And not just any job: 60% of the offers were for skilled positions in fields such as banking and healthcare.
