1% Profit Question

For those that do a 1% profit, do you select your NPO or do you take suggestions from your clients (assuming they know that you give).  I am a small company (1 employee...me!) and would love the ability to take suggestions but don't know how much feedback I would get and if it is worth the time to build a system to do so.

Hi Jared!
For WELLReceived, I tend to look into different medical/healthcare based NPOs. I check that the NPO is aligned with our company values. While this can take a bit of work, it is defintely worth it.
We are also launching a page on our website where clients and website visiters can make suggetions for NPOs they would like to see. We have this page linked to a particular email address to help filter replies.

Hope that helps!

Hey @JaredWhitley ! I've seen members handle it a bunch of ways. One idea would be to ask your clients to pick their own nonprofit at the moment of signing (ex. 1% of the deal closed). You can also pick a nonprofit that aligns with your own company cause, then just let your clients know what their business supports. There are some other ideas in this article: Profit Donation 101.

Definitely curious to hear ideas from other companies! Do you guys get client input on nonprofit donations? How do you go about it?

i would encourage you to not just look at nonprofits but look for profit tech-enabled startups that are working to solve the big unmet need.   So many tech companies are now trying to solve homelessness, housing, food, climate, etc that if bigtech gets behind them, and does an impact investment from your p1 daf, your tech team can help volunteer to help that startup....
