West Tech Fest Conference - Tech for Good Panel, Highlighting Pledge 1%!

Hi Pledgers! @steveking & I were in Perth (Western Australia) last week at West Tech Fest, to take part in the week-long conference and increase awareness in corporate giving & Pledge 1%. A few highlights below:

Hearing 2 time Nobel Peace-price nominee & philanthropist Steve Killelea talk in a fireside chat around the value of philanthropy
@steveking taking part in 3 panels - a "Tech for Good" panel alongside Pledge 1% members Fastvue, HEX & ClassBento, a Community panel with fellow Pledgers Blackbird & also StartMate, and a Philanthropy discussion with Steve Killelea, & Lisa Andrews
Connecting with new Pledge 1% members AirTree
Hanging beachside for a sustainability day at COAST, and hearing from ex-SVB exec Aaron Gershenberg about the Founder mental Health Pledge, and the importance of Pledges

West Tech Fest sounds like such a fantastic event, @Kali N! Did you pick up on any overarching trends during the panel discussions and chats?

Thanks @Michelle Fifis ! Overall there was a definite increase in appetite from previous years for impact initiatives, and the fact that a Philanthropist had a keynote at a startup conference was pretty amazing.

We had a lot of people come up to chat to Steve after the event, so it was wonderful to see the interest in general.

Outside of Philanthropy, there was a lot of comments about the potential for investors in the SE Asia market which was great to hear across the day
