I look forward to hearing from other members on this topic, but when you pick the causes your company wants to focus on, you should consider how they align with your values, mission, and goals. Ideally, you want to find a natural connection between your values, operations, products, or services and a social cause.

You also want to consider location. Is there a particularly pressing social issue that is specific to the location of your company?

Finally, you want to think about how your company is positioned to deliver the most impact. What unique assets can you bring to social impact?

I agree with Michelle - it depends what aligns with your business, and what you feel people will "get behind".

What we did, was pick 4 charities in 4 categories:

1) one that addressed environmental issues (endangered species)

2) one that addressed social issues (access to food and clothing)

3) one that addressed a specifically local issue

4) one that supported young people's development in the area that we work in, i.e, STEM education: science/ technology/ engineering/mathematics.

If someone in your business is facing a particular challenge such as cancer, then it might be appropriate to donate to a cancer organisation, as this would help your employee feel "seen".
